/Seattle is known for its rainy climate, yet snowfall is increasingly rare. Winters are mild in the city, with measurable snow falling roughly just once or twice a season. Though there are some years with little or no snow, the occasional storm can disrupt travel and daily life. Seattle gets much less snow than other northern cities, averaging about 5 inches a year.
